iPads can hurt your sleep

A study of British adults found that 68% of tablet owners use the gadget in the bedroom, more than in any other room.  While the iPad is convenient for searching the internet and reading, it is not a good idea to bring devices into the bedroom.

For most people; darkness is an important essential if quality rest is to be achieved. Darkness speeds up the bodies’ production of the hormone melatonin which induces sleep. The blue wavelength light emitted by most handheld devices has been shown in studies to trigger alertness, and is particularly disturbing to your sleep. Being exposed to artificial light within the last hour before bed make it more difficult to fall asleep, and experts suggest reading a book or partaking in a more relaxing activity before bedtime.
