If you sleep 6-hours or less per night, chances are you will have trouble losing weight. New research has found that lack of sleep could be stalling your ability to lose weight, and women who reported sleep problems were more likely to experience a weight gain of 11 pounds or more.

New research has revealed that when you sleep less, you eat more and burn less. Also, if you are not getting at least 7-hours of sleep per night your hormone levels will be affected in ways that can make you crave food more by raising your levels of ghrelin which is the hormone that tells you to eat. Insufficient sleep also lowers your bodies’ levels of leptin which keeps your hunger at bay. Lastly, when you sleep less you have more time to eat, so make sure you are getting enough sleep if weight gain is an issue.
