In today’s demanding world, it is becoming increasingly harder for some individuals to devote enough time to sleep at night. Yet according to a 2009 study by the PEW Research Center; only one-third of American adults take daytime naps.

Napping can be beneficial for those who cannot find adequate time for sleep at night, and a less than optimal nap is still better than not taking one at all. The ideal length of a nap is ten minutes long according to a 2006 study, and can reduce sleepiness and improve thinking skills. Furthermore, taking a nap is more effective to keep you awake than taking a second or third dose of caffeine.
