The Perfect Sleeping Positions for Common Conditions

How long does it take you to find your perfect sleeping position when you tuck in at night? While there isn’t a universal recommended sleeping position as everyone’s needs are different, there are certain positions that we give you more relief if you are experiencing pain or have a medical condition.

According to a national survey conducted by Tempur-Pedic of more than 2,000 people, 57% people start their night on their side, 17% on their back and 11% begin on their stomach. Various sleep studies have also found that adults change their sleeping position at night between 3 and 36 times at night, with the average being 12 times. Also, as we age, we change position during the night less often.

The Wall Street Journal provided this easy-to-follow infographic to help you make adjustments to your sleeping position when necessary. It’s also important to find the right mattress that will give you the proper support, comfort and encouragement to enjoy your sleep each night.  Schedule your free appointment with a Gallery Furniture Sleep Expert today to find out what mattress works for you and your favorite sleeping position!
