The Breathing Retraining Center LLC in Berkley, California, is offering classes previously used for asthma relief to help relieve clients of sleep apnea and snoring.
Snoring and Sleep Apnea are caused by hyperventilating, or breathing more than necessary, while you sleep. By possibly retraining how you breath while you are awake, the Center hopes to offer some night-time relief. They will focus on the Buteyko Breathing Retraining Technique, which has shown incredible progress in surveys from
sleep apnea educators in Australia. A survey of over 11,000 patients from Australian educators on the Buteyko technique found that 95% of clients found improved sleep, and 80% could stop the use of any medical aids such as CPAP machines. Symptoms such as snoring, restless legs, and headaches improved in most cases.
The Buteyko Breathing Retraining Technique is not a cure, but rather a complementary solution to sleep disturbances. By retraining how your body understands breathing while you are awake, it may be possible to improve your quality of sleep as well.
