Caffeine More Likely to Disrupt Sleep If You Are a Morning Person

For morning people, drinking coffee during the day is more likely to cause sleep problems. Researchers at Stanford University analyzed the caffeine consumption and sleep patterns of 50 college students. The participants wore wrist monitors so that researchers could identify when they experienced a period of wakefulness during sleep.

The results revealed that consuming caffeine during the day had of an effect on people who slept late. The late sleepers were less likely to have their sleep disrupted than those who woke up early in the mornings.

It is important to understand how caffeine levels in a person’s bloodstream go up and down and the impact is has at those levels.
