If you thought the only benefit of sex with your loved one was pleasure, here’s some news for you. Studies show that making love is good for healthy adults.

The sexual love shared in marriage helps you sleep well, relieve stress, and burn calories. If you find going to the gym mundane or working out at home to be a task, regular sex can do wonders for your waistline. Half an hour of love-making will burn between 200 and 400 calories and it also helps ward off disease by boosting the immune system. Another recent study says that men who have sex more than twice a week, had a lesser risk of getting a heart attack than men who had sex less than once a month.

Making love improves your mood and energy, and relieves stress hormones. After you make love, the sleep you get thereafter is much more relaxed. Getting a good night’s sleep will make you feel alert and healthy overall.  Almost every part of the body, including the brain, the heart, the stomach and blood, is either involved in love-making or affected by it. Having an adequate amount of sleep causes us to be vigorous and an adequate amount of lovemaking causes us to be happy and healthy not only physically, but also emotionally and psychologically. When we feel good about ourselves, our bodies fight off illness and disease better, so the healthier we are psychologically and emotionally, the healthier we are physically.
